Insulated vs uninsulated tent halls

By the tent3d editorial team · Updated 3 October 2026 · 1 min read

Insulation costs extra and is not needed for many storage uses. It becomes important when goods are sensitive to temperature or condensation, when people work inside in winter, or when young animals are housed.

Usually without insulation

  • Building materials, machinery and vehicles.
  • Pallets of non-sensitive goods.
  • Adult cattle and sheep (ventilation matters more).

Usually with insulation

  • Food and drinks, potatoes and onions.
  • Workshops, production and accommodation in winter.
  • Poultry and young animals.
  • Goods that must not get wet from condensation.

In between

A double membrane or reflective layer reduces condensation and summer heat at a lower price than full insulation.
