PVC tent hall vs sandwich-panel building
By the tent3d editorial team · Updated 3 October 2026 · 1 min read
Sandwich panels (metal sheets with an insulating core) give much better insulation than a PVC tent, but they cost more and take longer to build. For storage that does not need much heating, a tent hall usually does the job.
Comparison
| PVC tent hall | Sandwich-panel building | |
|---|---|---|
| Insulation | None to moderate (insulated membranes) | High (panel thickness chosen for the climate) |
| Cost | Lower | Higher |
| Build time | Short | Longer |
| Daylight | Translucent strips possible | Skylights needed |
| Condensation | Needs ventilation and insulation | Low with good panels |
| Permanence | Demountable | Permanent |
When panels are worth it
Heated production, cold storage, offices and long-term buildings in cold climates. A hybrid is also possible: a tent hall with panel walls or a panel building for the heated part only.
